Hello there! It’s a New Year! I know you are glad you made it. Truth be told, it is just a privilege. Many had left before the set time but there you are still standing strong but I’ve got some questions to ask you….
Do you have a Vision for the New Year?
What are your plans for the New Year?
What are your goals?
Are you ready for what the Year holds?
I leave the answers to you ….
As we embark on the journey of another 365 day. Well one is almost gone. It is expected of us to have a set of achievable goals. I’ve got my goals and I know I can achieve it.
Hey You! You’ll be thinking. Is he a superman? … Smiles… I am not. But inasmuch I can envision it, I can achieve it.
I am going to be charging you with few points on getting that your vision and goals accomplished. Well, it may not look easy but you know what? Nothing great comes easy but you’ve got to make it easy.
1. SET ACHIEVABLE GOALS
Whatever goals you are setting or made, ensure that they are all achievable. I am not saying you should not think Big nor have a bigger picture. Before you set that goal, ask yourself… Can I get it done? If yes… without compromising, Congratulations friend… you’re good to go. But if otherwise, check well and measure the gravity.
“IF YOU BELIVE YOU CAN, IT IS POSSSIBLE”….
2. NEVER LOOK DOWN ON YOUR SELF WHEN MAKING THE GOALS.
Always remember, it is yours and you are the one in charge. That you are not so tall does not mean you cannot join your school basketball team. If you have the passion, I tell you….you can be the Most Valuable Player….Always remember, you have a sleeping giant in you. Awaken it and utilize nit to the fullest.
3. DEVELOP THE STRATEGY FOR ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS
No coach with an undisputed aim of winning a game will go to the pitch without a prior formation or strategy. Now, you’ve got 364 days ahead of you. You see… you have to develop that strategy y6ou need in making your visions and goals a reality. This strategy is required to conquer each day and at the end come out victorious. Sometimes, your strategy may not be one. You may need different strategy for different situations so as to get those goals in place.
4. DEVELOP THAT STRONG DETERMINATION
The truth is, you tend to develop an heavy turbo towards achieving your goals at the beginning but when you begin to get halfway, you get tired and sometimes, distracted by other frivolities and if one is not careful, you will later discover that barely half of your set goal were achieved at the end of the year. You’ve got to develop that strong determination which will be the driving force to keep you moving till all is completed… “Be true to the game because the game will be true to you. If you try to shortcut the game, then the game will shortcut you. If you put forth the effort, good things will be bestowed upon you. That’s truly about the game and in some ways that’s about life too” Michael Jordan.
5.DEVELOP THAT RESILIENCE SPIRIT.
You may be thinking, I have my goals and strategy. That should make things easy for me. No… sometimes, we are faced with challenges capable of destabilizing us and thwarting the goals and vision but when the resistive and resilience spirit is there, you may fall but you’ll rise in that Great Spirit and keep walking towards your goals. The suppressive factor can come in any form such as barriers-financial, psychological or social, Human-factor-pessimistic mind. You cannot walk with a pessimist and achieve more. You’ve got to be optimistic and have an optimistic partner.
On a final note, you’ve got this year to yourself and you’ve got to decide how it goes by yourself. Think big and be determined, Never give up even if you fall. Falling does not make you a failure but your inability to stand again produces the failure.
See you at the top.
Love you.
I remain the boy with the pen. ...BONS
